Is Laser Hair Removal Permanant? 01/07/2009
Laser hair removal may or may not be permanent depending on how the procedure is conducted. If the correct laser hair removal procedure is followed then hair removal can be permanent. Human hair is constantly growing and falling off. The life cycle of hair consists of three stages. When the hair is in the first stage (this covers about 85% of all human hair) it contains the maximum amount of pigment and so is most sensitive to laser light. Hair removal at this stage is most effective and permanent. About 4% of human hair is in the second stage called the regressive phase. During this stage hair has stopped growing although it has not yet been shed. This stage is also good for permanent hair removal but since new hair, which has no pigment, may have begun to form in this stage, it may not be permanently destroyed. The third stage called the resting phase is applicable to about 14% of all human hair. This is the last stage before the hair falls off. Since new hair without pigment, which has not yet entered the first phase, is likely to be present in this stage, such hair may not be removed permanently. 2 Comments What is Laser Hair Removal ? 01/07/2009

Several hair removal techniques, by both men and women, have been used in the past, such as shaving, waxing, creams and so on. Most such solutions are not permanent and result in a great deal of wasted time and money. However, with the invention of Laser technology in the last few years, the desire for safe and permanent hair removal is now possible. Such techniques of epilation by laser are known as "Laser Hair Removal". Laser hair removal achieves a permanent effect by destroying the hair follicles. If a hair follicle is destroyed then the hair cannot grow. |
